           Dear Parents:

          The sign-up to play Lefty Grove League Baseball this summer will be held on : 

                        Wednesday, March 13….……...……….6  P.M. to 8 P.M.

                        Thursday, March 14..…..………………6  P.M. to 8 P.M.

                         Friday, March 15……………………….6 P.M. to 8 P.M.  


           The sign-up will be held in the V.F.W. Hall at 140 Milan Avenue.


            The following children should plan on signing up during the sign-up period listed above:


                 1.) Any boy or girl from ages 7 to 16 who attends a school in

                      Norwalk and is interested in playing summer baseball. The                

                      birthday cutoff date for the league is April  30.

2.)     Lefty Grove players currently on a Lefty Grove team.

3.)     Players completely new to the league.


     Forms are currently available at

Sign-up forms will also be available at the sign-up.

    The fee for playing in the Bantam, Colt, and Junior Divisions is $30.00. The Senior Division’s fee is $40.00.  Checks should be made payable to the Lefty Grove Baseball League.


               Players new to the league need to provide a copy of their birth certificate at the sign-up.

NOTE:   Individual players from communities surrounding Norwalk (ex. Monroeville, Willard, New London, Western Reserve, etc.) are eligible to apply for play in the Lefty Grove Baseball League. The sign-up dates are in the letter above.


            The Lefty Grove Baseball League is looking for a few managers for the 2019 season for the following divisions:


Bantam (7-8 year olds)…….If interested contact President Scott Meyer at 419-706-0597 for further details.

Colt Division (9-10 year olds)……If interested contact President Joe Statzer at 419-921-1500 for further details.

Junior Division (11-12 year olds)…….If interested contact President Travis Fox at 419-744-0529 for further details.

Senior Division (13-16 year olds)…..If interested contact President Harold Preston at 440-315-9672 for further details.



Dear Parents:

                 The Lefty Grove Baseball League, in coordination with the Norwalk Park and Rec. Dept., will be holding five Sunday skills’ clinics covering March 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. The clinics are free. This is an opportunity for players to get a jump on the up-coming 2019 season.


                  The skill clinics will cover:

  1. Warming up before games

  2. Field etiquette during games

  3. Hitting

  4. Fielding

  5. Pitching

  6. Catching

  7. Base running



                       Times for the clinics:

  1. Noon—1:30 each Sunday for Bantam & Colt Divisions

  2. 1:30---3:00 each Sunday for Junior & Senior Divisions



                       Location for the clinics:

                                         Perkins Family Gym….32 West Monroe Street


                       Need to bring: 

  1. Baseball glove (put your name on your glove)

  2. Wear comfortable clothes

Draft Dates

Dear Managers:
       The dates for the team drafts are the following:

             BANTAM....Thursday, March 28, 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., VFW Hall

             COLT.....Thursday, March 28, 7:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., VFW Hall

             JUNIOR.....Friday, March 29, 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., VFW Hall

             SENIOR.....Friday, March 29, 7:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. VFW Hall

        You will be able to pick up your bag of equipment after each division's meeting. You will also be able to sign up for practice fields.
